MayaTech Supports the Office on Women’s Health New HPV Vaccination Campaign for Young Adults
Silver Spring, MD (Jan. 6. 2021) - The MayaTech Corporation, in partnership with Hager Sharp, is supporting the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ (HHS) Office on Women’s Health (OWH) on researching, planning, implementing, and evaluating a public health campaign focused on increasing young adult human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination rates in three states: Mississippi, South Carolina, and Texas.
On January 6, OWH launched the HPV VAX NOW campaign with a long-term goal of increasing HPV vaccination rates among young adults ages 18–26. The campaign will specifically target young adults and healthcare providers in these three southern states, which have significant disparities in HPV vaccination rates.
"MayaTech is honored to support an effort that has major implications for the future health of young people – helping to prevent cancers caused by HPV," said Valerie Spencer, MayaTech President. "In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, HHS urges the importance of getting vaccinated, and MayaTech is hopeful the resources and tools provided through this campaign will further spur awareness and education on HPV and related cancers."
MayaTech has worked on the campaign with OWH since 2018. Read more about the HPV VAX NOW campaign, which includes information for young adults as well as guidance, tips and resources for healthcare providers.
